Week #27: Mar. 23rd - 27th

Dear Families, Is it really the  final days of March ?! Time is flying! I hope you’ve been enjoying  your  work week  and are ready for a  wonderful weekend :)  Please know when the sun’s shining and the fresh air is breezing (and yes, a bit of snow still ;), it’s put  big smiles  on the children’s faces (and mine too!) as we  run, jump, and PLAY  outdoors. 🌞  Boy o’ boy, nature’s medicine isn’t it?! 🌳  As we wrap up another wonderful week, here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to in class… 👇 🧦💙 WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY:   💛🧦 World Down Syndrome Day  (WDSD)  is recognized  annually on March 21st  to encourage  inclusion  as well as to acknowledge the  valuable contributions of people with Down Syndrome.    1 in every 800 children in Ontario are born with Down Syndrome equating to approximately 70 students in the SCDSB.   This year's theme is  “Together Against...

Week #26: Mar. 9th - 13th

Dear Families, Another wonderful work week for us in the classroom and I hope yours was just as productive :) I hear from some followers of mine, "Pareen, it's amazing how much you and your students accomplish in a week, how do you do it?" Well, truthfully there's never a lull moment as soon as your child steps foot into our learning space each morning. I do my best to ensure we seize & savour every moment.  Every second is precious and our mentality is to 'work hard and play hard!' Life's all about balance :-)   As we head into March Break, I want to wish all of my students and their families a very happy, healthy, and fun break!  I hope everyone has time to rest, play, and enjoy some special moments together.
